Rei is a versatile and agile fighter-class air mage ready to stand at the forefront of any offensive with her hybrid weapon firmly grasped, eyes forward, and family at her sides. While trained to focus hit and run tactics, Rei can leverage her unit’s high maneuverability and excellent stamina to dictate the pace of most any fight. Rei was born into a military family in central Toushima. During a routine test flight for the first generation A6M airframe, Rei’s test pilot mother and elder brother were killed in front of her by the Collectors on the day of their betrayal of humanity. On that day, she swore to do her utmost to prevent such tragedies from happening to anyone else ever again. Carrying her mother's dying wish to protect her family and home in her heart, she has a relentless complex toward being a dependable big sister and tries to lead by example with all sorts of relentless assaults on anyone or anything that shows itself as a threat. Wildly protective of her friends, outgoing, friendly, and perhaps overwhelmingly optimistic, Rei takes on the self-proclaimed mantle as big sister type in any airgroup that she is assigned to, despite being one of the shortest air mages in height and youngest in age. To this end, she boisterously swears to protect those around her, declaring her comrades to all be part of one big family. Though she may at times be immature, bratty, and hyperactive, few mages can claim to match Rei’s dedication and optimism.
